“I don’t know what else to do, so I write. It’s my way of seeing the world.” -- Jim Harrison
Joyce Bahle, Harrison’s assistant for almost 40 years: “He set his life up that way. He didn’t have to think about a computer, a typewriter, anything. He just carries his pen — he’s constantly noodling with words and ideas. He has had that freedom.”
Harrison died five years ago -- on March 26, 2016 -- at his writing desk in Patagonia, Arizona. His stories, essays and poems will never die and we are free to roam his world forever.
